The book of myth refers to history books, when she refers to a camera, she is going to take her camera and capture the real truth behind history, not what the men who write these books want everyone to believe. Putting on her armor she hides her sex or gender from the outside world, not letting everyone else know she is a female. At the end of the poem she says "In the book of myths which our names do not appear", she is refering to women, as most men are glamorized or portrayed to be what history is all about. Please note this poem was written in the 1960s by a feminist.
